What Sims 4 Expansion Pack You Should Buy, Based On Your Zodiac Sign
Written by Daphne Bryant
The Sims 4 (my favorite video game, of which I have a love/hate relationship with) is notorious for its ridiculously large DLC catalog. With dozens of packs fighting for your hard-earned money, it can be hard to decide which ones are worth buying and which ones to skip over. The secret is to find the pack that feeds your soul and matches your player style. And, who better to call on for guidance than the stars? Here’s a list of Sims 4 Expansion Packs that you should actually buy, based solely on your zodiac sign.
Aries: Get to Work (2015)
Ambitious Aries craves control, which is why you should check out Get To Work. This expansion packs introduces The Sims 4's first ever active careers: Detective, Doctor, and Scientist. Now you can follow your Sims to work and actively solve cases, heal patients, or build experimental gadgets (rather than waiting around for Sims to return from a rabbit hole). Beyond the three active careers and retail management, The Sims 4: Get to Work also brings aliens and the secret world of Sixam to the game, as well as the standalone Baking skill (bonus points for the super cute and ridiculously oversized Cupcake Factory machine), the Photography skill (which comes with professional studio equipment), and Magnolia Promenade: a compact, 4-lot world meant to be a cozy shopping district. If you want to take charge of your Sims’ career and livelihood, this is the perfect pack for you.
Taurus: Cottage Living (2021)
Comfort, tactile beauty and the simple things in life: Cottage Living is a pack that any Taurus would truly appreciate. Whisk your Sims away to the lush English countryside of Henford-on-Bagley, where you can slow down and live off the land raising cuddly cows, fluffy llamas, and flocks of chickens. On top of animal care and farming, Cottage Living features the Cross-Stitch skill, eccentric village gossip, and the charming Finchwick Fair where you can enter your prized pies and livestock for bragging rights. This pack is pastoral bliss, offering the same cozy vibes as Animal Crossing, and if that sounds like your vibe, you should give it a shot <3
Gemini: City Living (2016)
It’s no secret that Geminis tend to get bored easily and thrive on constant stimulation, variety, and social buzz. Monotony is your enemy, which is why I recommend buying City Living! Instead of the quiet suburban cul-de-sacs found in so many of The Sims 4 expansions, this pack tosses your Sim straight into the beating heart of San Myshuno: a towering skyline packed with vibrant cultural districts, cramped starter apartments, and noisy neighbors who will keep you up all night long. The best part is, you will never run out of things to do. The city rotates through lively street festivals like GeekCon, the Spice Festival, the Humor and Hijinks Festival and the Romance Festival! Add in street art murals, karaoke bars, flea markets, basketball courts, bold careers like Politician, Critic, and Social Media, and well: you’ve got it made! City Living will certainly satisfy a Gemini player!
Cancer: Growing Together (2021)
Cancer is a sentimental sign, governed by deep emotional bonds, family roots, and a fierce devotion to home. Thus, Growing Together is an absolute must-have. While other signs are busy chasing promotions, Cancer players may have more fun orchestrating awkward family reunions and obsessing over lineage. Set in the picturesque coastal bay of San Sequoia, this pack will spice up your household dynamics. It transforms family life into a rich generational saga, complete with developmental infant milestones, messy midlife crises, rivalries between siblings, and customizable family dynamics: everything from warm and supportive to emotionally distant. Now, relatives can come and visit, you can build backyard treehouses, and have super fun sleepovers with friends. If the thought of nurturing a sprawling family tree appeals to you, Growing Together is the pack to get!
Leo: Get Famous (2018)
Leo is ruled by the sun, naturally magnetic, and yearns to be adored, making Get Famous an effortless match. This expansion pack drops you into the shimmering, star-studded hills of Del Sol Valley, where you can claw your way up from a nobody to a five-star global superstar. The most interesting aspect of the pack is its fully active Acting career, which lets you strut onto movie sets, hit the hair and makeup chair, rehearse high-drama scenes, and nail period pieces or sci-fi blockbusters. If you’re famous enough, you get the thrill of dodging paparazzi flashes, earning your diamond tile on the Starlight Boulevard walk of fame, and cultivating a personal entourage of fainting fans. If you believe your Sims deserve the spotlight, endless luxury, and a standing ovation wherever they go, this pack gives you everything you need to make that happen.
Virgo: Seasons (2018)
A true Virgo craves structure, meaningful cycles, and the deep satisfaction of a well-organized schedule. Not only does the Seasons expansion pack revitalize every existing world with dynamic weather systems (from blinding winter blizzards to scorching summer heatwaves), but it adds a customizable Calendar system that allows you to plan elaborate family holidays down to the tradition, or schedule your Sim’s daily activities weeks ahead of time. It also elevates the Gardening skills and adds the tranquil Floral Arranging skill, complete with scent infusions that can subtly alter other Sims’ moods. For a Virgo (for anyone really), Seasons is a necessity.
Libra: Lovestruck (2024)
Libra is the ultimate romantic, making Lovestruck a match made in astrological heaven. Someone like you demands courtship, mutual chemistry, tension and ambiance, all things that this expansion pack provides. Set in the sun-drenched, Latin-inspired streets of Ciudad Enamorada, Lovestruck transforms the way romance works in the game. It introduces the Cupid’s Corner dating app, where Sims can swipe through flirty profile selfies, specific turn-ons and turn-offs, and customizable blind dates that will make or break your night. Relationships are kept in delicate balance through dynamic Romantic Satisfaction, meaning emotional disconnects, fading attraction, or bad gift choices can quickly spiral into dramatic heartbreaks. Between sharing intimate picnic blanket cuddles, sipping cocktails at candlelit bars, learning all about the steamy Romance Consultant career, and indulging in bedroom drama, the Lovestruck expansion pack consistently delivers. If you’re craving swoon-worthy connections, this pack was tailored specifically for you.
Scorpio: Life & Death (2024)
Scorpio is the zodiac’s brooding sovereign of depth, transformation, and all things taboo, making Life & Death the gothic masterpiece you’ve been waiting for. While other signs shy away from the darker edges of mortality, Scorpio leans right into the shadows. Enter the haunting, mist-veiled world of Ravenwood—a landscape dotted with ancient crypts, whispering graveyards, and eternal resting grounds. This expansion pack gives mortality genuine weight. You can finally try the active Reaper career, where you reap souls and pass judgment, or pursue the humble Undertaker profession. Most importantly, Life & Death completely rewrites the afterlife: in this pack, death is no longer a boring game-over screen, but an invitation into fully realized Ghost gameplay. You can also draft detailed wills to spark family inheritance feuds, tackle your Sim’s unfinished“ Soul’s Journey” bucket lists, or chase reincarnation. If you revel in macabre beauty, eerie rituals, and the delicious thrill of controlling life, death, and everything that lingers in between, this pack is perfect for you.
Sagittarius: Snowy Escape (2020)
It’s time to explore new horizons! Sagittarius is the bold adventurer, the adrenaline junkie, and the free-spirited philosopher of the zodiac, which means you’ll love Snowy Escape. Tucked into the majestic Japanese-inspired peaks of Mt. Komorebi, this pack delivers all things extreme sports and wanderlust. You can strap on a pair of skis, grab a snowboard, or pull out a sled to tear down treacherous slopes. Or, if you prefer the Rock Climbing skill, train and lead a brutal mountain excursion all the way to the summit. Afterwards, try winding down with serene hot springs, meditative bamboo forest hikes, and communal hot pot dinners. Also, Snowy Escape introduces the Lifestyles system—which prompts your Sims to develop traits such as“ Outdoorsy” and“ People Person”, depending on how you play. Sagittarius, this expansion pack is calling your name!
Capricorn: Discover University (2019)
If you’ve ever met an unapologetic overachiever who enjoys the grind, chances are they were a Capricorn. If this is your sign, you should get Discover University, which is all about earning credentials, prestige, and the satisfaction of pursuing higher education and conquering an impossible workload. This pack adds storied rival college towns, forcing you to choose between the ivy-draped University of Britechester and the cutting-edge halls of Foxbury Institute. Your Sims will manage brutal course loads, draft term papers late into the night, craft intricate research presentations, and sprint across campus on a bicycle just to make it in time for their final exam. As stressful as all that sounds, the payoff is worth it: graduating with honors or landing a Distinguished Degree fast-tracks your Sim into executive pay grades, elite corporate bonuses, and accelerated career promotions. Along the way, you can build custom robots with the Robotics skill, dominate the debate podium, hang out with your roommates at Pepper’s Pub or even get tapped by an elusive secret society conducting late-night sprite rituals. If you thrive on relentless ambition, this pack will test you and your limits!
Aquarius: Eco Lifestyle (2020)
Aquarius is the radical visionary, the rebel, and the community-minded eccentric who cannot stand the status quo, which makes Eco Lifestyle your dream pack. While traditional signs are happy with standard suburban routines, an Aquarius is looking at the bigger picture and wants to flip broken systems entirely on their head. Set in the smoggy industrial landscape of Evergreen Harbor, this expansion pack puts the fate of the world directly in your hands. Your sims can lead or participate in environmental and social campaigns to transform polluted, trash-strewn districts into thriving green havens using solar panels and wind turbines. One of the pack’s most notable features is the Neighborhood Action Plan (N.A.P.) system, which lets you rally neighbors, lobby for progressive policies, and even vote to make wearing paper bags on your head a legal mandate...This pack also allows you to fabricate chic modular furniture on a giant 3D printer, master candle making and fizzy juice brewing, and pursue the Civil Designer career. If you want to engineer a sustainable utopia from scratch, this pack belongs in your game.
Pisces: Island Living (2019)
Pisces is an intuitive dreamer and old soul who would absolutely adore the aquatic wonderland that is Island Living. One of my favorite parts of the pack is the Mermaid occult state, which lets your Sims swap their human legs for shimmering, iridescent tails—as a Mermaid, you can summon playful dolphins, control weather storms, and lure unsuspecting townies into the tide with haunting siren songs. Beyond its mythological lore, the breathtaking world of Sulani offers a completely different vibe from every other pack: your Sims can sleep directly over the water on stilts, beachcomb for shells, lounge in hammocks under palm trees, and soak in vibrant sunsets on an aqua zip. You can also nurture the island as an active Conservationist—restoring bleached coral reefs until sea turtles return to hatch on the white sand beaches—or simply live off-the-grid and enjoy fresh coconuts, beach bonfires, and kava parties with the warm, tight-knit local community. Swim away your troubles with the Island Living expansion pack!
